Short Bio
Christine Singleton is a collage of every Black woman she has ever come into contact with. She is a long-forgotten myth. A paradox of personhood. A rumor. Christine Singleton is a whisper seen on the lips of gossiping aunties. Christine is a writer who wants to learn everything she can about her craft. Christine is excited by coming-of-(r)age narratives by Black women, poetry, invented forms, and non-linear stories. She likes to talk about gender (re)presentation in trash reality television; the Black Arts Movement; and remixes of fairy tales, folk tales, mythologies, and legends in different mediums. Christine wants to learn more about affect theory, the linguistics of slang, and engaged pedagogies. Christine is actively trying to write in her journal everyday, help her plants thrive, and finally finish unpacking!
